Christopher has been doing very well.  He was jaundice and christmas eve until the day after christmas he was in a phototherapy bed, which was not fun for me or Carson, but our pediatrician says that his color looks amazing now.  Then we had a weight gain issue, he wasn’t gaining weight, at his two week checkup he should have been back to his birth weight and he wasn’t even close.  So we have been nursing and supplementing with formula.  We went to the doctor yesterday and he now weights 6lbs 9oz.  We don’t have to go back to the doctors until his 2 month check up which will be when he gets his shots, no fun.  :-(   He has been sleeping for longer periods during the night and is awake for longer periods during the day.  He loves car rides and gets to walk the mall every day we are able to.  He is able to focus on things and knows my face and tries to grab my hair and pull already.  He is learning his voice even if it is grunting and straining.  The sleep deprivation is well worth it and it’s not even that bad right now.  :-)   I have a very good baby boy and I love him dearly.  Luckily for me I get to work from home part time now, so everything is going great!

Christopher Ryan Wright was born December 20th at 1:32 p.m. by induction.  He weighed 5lbs and 9 ounces and was 17 inches long.  He is the sweetest little boy I have ever met, he is the cutest baby I have ever seen (of course I am biased.)

Today went to the high risk OB and he said my fluid is a little low, his head is measuring a week a head of my due date but the rest of him is measuring two weeks behind. He said it was nothing to really worry about. He is measuring in the 15th percentile, but that he is just a small baby. However I have to be monitored weekly now until he is here both by my OB and by the high risk doctor. He said the week of Christmas they will measure him again and then we can discuss when to deliver him.

So I am going to be working from home for now and then I will take my maternity leave and then see how things go.

UPDATE:

Well I went to my regular OB on thursday and she measured me and said that I was now 1 cm dilated and that I am 80 % effaced.  She said that he would probably come in the next week or two, I said something about hoping until after Christmas and she looked at me and said well we can hope but I don’t think so.  :-(   It’s okay though I am happy as long as he is healthy, I will just celebrate my Christmas after he comes.  Hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday!  I will update the more I know, and if I don’t update for awhile that means he is here and when I get the chance I will.

So today I had my 35 week appointment and I knew I was going to have to have a sonogram because my fundal measurement at my 32 week appointment he was measuring at only 30 weeks.  So my doctor has ordered an ultrasound for this appointment.  Well the sonogram tech was running way behind because she was out earlier this week, well once I finally got back there I noticed that he was measuring at 32 1/2 weeks instead of 35 weeks.  Well my OB came into the room and she had a worried look on her face she wanted to get me in touch with a high risk doctor so that he could get me in to monitor me.  Well he told her to send me to L&D and have me monitored to see if he was under stress or if the placenta wasn’t giving enough nutrition for him to grow with.  So I was walked over to L&D and was monitored for three hours.  My OB came and told me that everything looked fine but that I still need to go to the high risk doctor on Monday.  She said I will now have to be monitored by Dr. Peters and my OB weekly to see when it is time to deliver him.  She said that he will be delivered before his due date.  So now I am worried that while Carson is gone and I am at the high risk doctor that he is going to want to say that he wants to induce me and deliver me on Monday.  If that is the case then I am going to ask him to wait until Carson is back on Tuesday.  So he is probably going to be here before I know it, so I am going to get everything ready asap.

Hello all,

It’s been awhile since I have been able to update this blog and I am sorry. It just really hectic around this time of year and then adding being pregnant into the mix is making it completely exhausting. Work has been killing me and I am very thankful that this is a short three day week, with a four day weekend! :) Christopher has been doing very well, I had a fall last monday that wasn’t very fun and had us worried but he has been on the move every day since then so I am not too concerned about it. I spoke with my doctor and she said next time if it happened I needed to go to labor and delivery and be monitored but I didn’t think I needed to go, as long as there is no bleeding and I’m not sore in my abdominal area than she said he was fine.

We finally got the nursery done, well almost, I’m missing the valances and that’s it! I would have gotten them on saturday but the Babies R Us we went to didn’t have them so I have to wait and get them when we are in Oklahoma this weekend, but I will be putting them up when I get home on sunday. I will post some pictures below of the room and then once the valances get up I will post some more. I hope everyone has a great thanksgiving!!! Eat tons, I know I will be!

Hello all,

Let’s see yesterday was my 28 week appointment and everything is looking great.  We had an Ultra Sound done to check and make sure he had a 3 vessel umbilical cord and he does!  :)   So everything is good and they checked his anatomy and he is growing how he should be growing.  His feet are already 2 1/2 inches big (thats a big as my thumb) and he weights 2 pounds and 8 ounces.  He stuck his tounge out at us while she was doing the ultrasound, it was pretty funny but considering Carson and I are the parents, expected.  My doctor said I needed to watch my weight gain, apparently I gained 6 pounds in the past month, but considering I was on vacation, went to the state fair, and had our anniversary weekend, I’m not too concerned.  Granted the holidays are coming up but still not too worried, as I know the weight will come off as soon as he comes out and I start exercising again.

I’m not feeling too great today, rather uncomfortable.  Had a bad dream and woke up around 5 I think the adrenaline from me being scared woke him up and he’s been active ever since.  I’ve been having a few Braxton Hicks Contractions and my stomach is killing me today for some reason, but all in all I’m actually ready for him to come.  I didn’t think I would be but I am.  Very!

Shower is November 10th at 2 and it looks like about 14 people are coming, excluding me.  So it looks like a pretty good turn out.  Hope everyone is doing well.

Jesica

Good morning all,

Sorry I have been a little lazy with keeping this up lately.  My grandparents, aunt, and I went to Disney World the first week of October and it was so much fun.  I just now think I am catching up from all of the things we did, sleep is definitely a good thing!  But I had a blast the entire time I was there.

Christopher has been moving around a ton lately, which I is a good sign because that means he’s growing and active.  My baby shower for work is this Thursday and I am super excited.  Then our anniversary is Monday, so we are both off work that day to just relax and spend time with each other.  We are going to San Marcos on Saturday to do some Christmas shopping, so that should be fun.  My baby shower is November 10th and is going to be at the Ross Avenue Wedding Chapel, it starts at 2 and I sent out invitations last Friday, so if you want to go and didn’t recieve one please let me know and I’ll send one right out.

Had my GD test last wednesday, it was really gross, but I guess it’s something we all have to go through.  I have my next appointment on the 24th and will update everyone on his progress.

Hello all!

I’m so excited I leave for Disney World for a week on Saturday!  Woo Hoo!  :-)

Anyways yesterday was a regular doctors visit, my doctor wasn’t there again, but hey that’s what happens with OB doctors right?  Anyways, we listened to the heartbeat which was strong at 150, he was asleep so it was a bit lower than normal, but she said anywhere from 140-160 was average range depending on their activity level.  I then have an appointment on the 9th for the GD (gestational diabetes) test, I have to drink an orange sugary soda and then wait and hour until they draw blood.  Then my next appointment is October 23rd where I am getting my RhoGam shot for being RH negative.  The nurse called yesterday saying I could take Dramamine on my flight this weekend as long as it was the non drowsy type.  Also saying they needed me to come in early on my next appoitment for an ultrasound to check something.  Well Carson and I were a bit freaked out so I called this morning.  Apparently in the first ultrasound Christopher only had 2 vessels in his umbilical cord and he is suppose to have 3, but in my last ultrasound at 20 weeks he had 3, so my doctor just wants to make sure that he has all the blood vessels, otherwise I will have to be monitored a little more closely, because he could come a bit early in that case.  But she said it was nothing to worry about and it wasn’t any type of emergency otherwise I wouldn’t be able to go to Florida.

On a side note I am allowed to ride Kilimajaro Safari, I asked the nurse this since on the ride it has an advisory for pregnant women due to the jolts and bumps.  However, as I do ride in Carson’s truck on Dallas highways I didn’t see the difference.  She said as long as I rode in the front to lessen the bumps that I should be fine.  So WOO HOO get to ride the safari.  She also said just to make sure to use common sense when riding, she said most of the rides have pregnant advisories, however some of them are for legal reasons, but she said no roller coasters and nothing that goes upside down.  (Kinda already knew this.)

Just an update.

Love you all,

Jesica

I know I have fallen behind on posting belly pictures.  I’ve been really tired when getting home lately, so sorry.  So I am posting links to the belly pics, and congrats to my aunt for becoming a grandma!  :)

Hello all,

Just a quick update, Christopher is doing well, he was a little wiggle worm this weekend while we were in Oklahoma, but I had lots to drink (caffiene wise) and think that woke him up quite a bit. Since then he has calmed down A LOT but is still moving around. We are at the 22 week mark today! YAY! I took some belly pics last night but haven’t posted them yet, Carson and I were staying off the computer for one night. :) Also to let everyone know we registered at Babies R Us, I am not quite sure when the exact shower date is but I know its the first of Novemeber. My mom is planning it so I am just waiting on details from her. Hope everyone had great holiday weekend!
